UpsideDown Games began as a seed in Simon’s mind as he watched his daughter grow. He wanted to supply stimulating games that were also educational to support her enthusiasm and curiosity of the world. The name UpsideDownGames is meant to show how easy the games are to play to engage young children, but also educate them with the help of Trunky, the cute elephant.
Simon, a psychologist specializing in educational games and their effect on learning, enlisted the help of other teachers and parents, as well as kids to create the games. His strongest critic is his 4 year old daughter. His team’s efforts have been recognized over the years by prominent awarding bodies, such as the BETT show. He has also gained international fame with his parent company, Serious Games Interactive. He holds a PhD in Games and learning from IT-university of Copenhagen and a masters degree in psychology from University of Copenhagen.
We hope you enjoy playing our games as much as we enjoy creating them! We would love to hear what you think and if you have any suggestions or requests to make even better games in the future. You are welcome to visit us on on FaceBook or Twitter.
What we believe in:
- Education is fun
Education should be an enjoyable experience that engages children.
- Curiosity and exploration
Games should facilitate children’s exploration and support their curiosity of the world.
- Interactive games for real learning
We aim to capture the science behind designing effective educational games in all of our games to take advantage of the possibilities technology has to offer. The educational content in all of our games is also carefully planned. Parents, we have shared some of the articles we thought might be interesting to read in our resources section.
- Putting children first
Our games are geared to children and what they enjoy playing, with consideration to usability. We also aim to fill in gaps that we have found in educational games.
- Education for all
We offer high quality games at an affordable price. We also offer our games in multiple languages, such as English, Danish, Swedish, Arabic, German, French, and Russian with plans to expand into other languages, such as Dutch.
